WELCOME to my Portfolio
Lesley K Williams - Halverson; Artist, Photographer and Author.
I was born in London, as a child immigrated to Australia. As a child I spent all my time wandering the Australian bush, and ever since have been inspired by the diversity and by the natural textures and colour of this land. My passion for photography began early in life, being dyslexic my mother tried her best to help me develop natural talents, and gave me my first camera at the age of 7, an old box brownie. Ever since then it’s been a love story, photographing and collecting precious images. My intention is to share the spirit of Australia with the world as seen through my eyes an maybe just lift your spirits a little and bring you a touch of inspiration.
Life on North Stradbroke Island.
Life moves in mysterious ways, having spent my teenage years growing up on North Stradbroke Island, I now have returned after many years travelling.
Was it fate that brought me back? Or the spirit of this land? I suspect both, as the feelings of contentment and purpose have never been stronger than they are now.
Many years have been spent travelling Australia, rasing my three children from my first marriage and learning about myself as a person. I now have a second family and two more wonderful children, life never ceases to astound me, as it would seem my children are all to follow in my footsteps, and also fall in love with the camera.
The works of my daughter Suzanne Halverson, and my son John Jamieson are also exhibited on this website.
Over the years I struggled to find the medium that would bring me fulfilment; it's funny, in hindsight it was there all the time, something so simple that I had overlooked it. Photography is an expression of my soul; it feeds my heart, lifts my spirits and nurtures my soul. I trust those who view and purchase my work will find they experience a sense of what I experience. Please enjoy ~ through my eyes. My work is only produced as Limited Edition Prints.
